ISOFlex Packaging expands capacity in Washington,
3rd production line adds 6 jobs, increased output

Facility creates local synergy for plastics, blown-film expertise

WASHINGTON, Indiana –ISOFlex Packaging, a full-service company providing flexible packaging solutions, will formally open its 3rd production line in its Washington facility on April 24, according to David McKinney, president. “We’re pleased to respond to new demand with this additional capacity,” said McKinney, who heads up the Florida-based division of Sigma Plastics Group. “This new line will expand our capacity an additional 700,000 to 800,000 pounds of blown film per month.”

The all-new production line will add six new jobs, expanding the employee base at ISOFLEX’s Daviess County facility on I-69 to 38 employees, said Trey Reuss, Washington plant manager.

Reuss noted that ISOFlex facilities in Indiana and elsewhere are equipped with the latest technology, including monolayer, three-layer, five-layer and seven-layer high barrier co-extrusion film lines to produce better, more complex films.

ISOFlex acquired the former Alliance Barrier Films operation in January, following a partnership with the local owners dating back to 2016, when $25 million was invested to develop the Washington facility.

“Years of strategic collaboration and growth are now creating a local region known for its expertise in the plastics industries,” said Mike Chestnut, chairman of the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC). “We are grateful to ISOFlex for their continued commitment to growing their capacity and impact.”

“ISOFlex is developing and maintaining a state-of-the-art manufacturing capacity that serves multiple industries,” said Ron Arnold, DCEDC executive director. “We look forward to continued long-term success for ISOFlex and the region.”

Arnold also noted the continued positive support of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and other regional and local groups in the project.

Local and state officials, including Washington Mayor Joe Wellman, were on hand for the formal opening. The extrusion film packaging company has facilities in seven locations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the state of Washington.

ISOFlex Packaging manufactures specialty plastic films and bags for shrink, barrier, laminating, coating, converting and can liners, serving the food and beverage, consumer goods and institutional products industries.
